Internet Business Advertising Techniques

1...Awards & Competitions
The key to using awards as an Internet marketing device is in giving ratings - not prizes.
It's cheaper, but the real benefit is that ratings enable you to get your online business
noticed. Pandecta, for example, lists the top 20 free business e-zines. For every e-zine
that makes the list, we e-mail the author to congratulate him or her. That e-mail does two
things:
(1) It is designed to convince the author that the Pandecta top 20 is an exclusive club, and that being rated there is a fantastic achievement (which it is).
(2) We attach this image for them to place on their sites to enhance the credibility of their own sales efforts

2...E-zines (Newsletters)
The amount of work required to maintain a top e-zine makes this marketing technique unsuitable for most. It is no good to send out an average e-zine. In Internet marketing, your e-zine is the image of you online business. Give it away for free, include as little advertisements as possible and as much content as possible. Don't try to make money off your e-zine. It is a tool. It reminds people of your products and establishes you as an expert in your field

3...Premiums
In the real world, premiums include coffee mugs, ties, key chains etc. A high quality logo and/or company name is printed on it and it is handed out for free. An online business can also utilize all these in Internet marketing, but think about screen savers, backgrounds, mouse pointers, mouse pads etc. As long as it is free and looks great, people will use it and be reminded of your business every time they do. When you have your premium ready to go, don't just advertise it on your site. Many sites on the Net list "free stuff". Submit your creations to as many of these sites as you can.

4...Speeches
This Internet marketing technique is not for everyone, but a great way to show that you are a leading authority in your field. When you speak before your local chamber of commerce or trade association, the spin-off publication can be substantial. Speeches are the most effective offline Internet marketing technique.

5...Articles
The same advantages here as for speeches, with the added bonus of reaching a bigger audience over the Internet and the fact that you don't have those podium spot-lights in your eyes :-)
The e-zine world provides a fertile ground for your Internet marketing efforts. There simply are too many e-zines, so fresh content is highly valued. You shouldn't have too much trouble getting published. Don't just pitch your business - wrap your sales pitch in content that readers will appreciate and enjoy. If you're going to offer the editor exclusivity, be sure to ask what his subscriber count is. Anything above 40 000 is good.

6...Bonuses
Ideally, every product you sell should include a bonus. It is a widely used marketing technique on the Internet so users almost expect it. For example: "Buy this gardening book for just $17 and get a free 4-day e-mail course on creative garden design!". The bonus should be a high quality product. Something you'd be able to sell on its own. That way you create that fuzzy feeling with prospective clients. Fuzzy? Yes fuzzy. Make them like you. They'll associate your business/products with that warm (fuzzy) feeling you get when you find a great bargain.

7...Free Samples
On the Internet, as in real life, free samples attract attention. If the sample is good, attention turns into new sales. At Pandecta Magazine we offer a sample issue. It is exactly like the regular monthly issues in every way - and that is vital. Don't spice up your free sample for the sake of marketing your product. The idea is to show the customers exactly what they'll get for their money. This is a trust-building opportunity.

8...Special Offers
Your previous customers and e-zine subscribers should be made to feel special. They have trusted you with either their credit card info or their contact info or both, so treat them like gold. Offer them specials, tell them about new products before you tell anyone else etc. Send them something for free every now and again. Something other people have to pay for. Never EVER use your communications with existing clients to push your latest product. Do you enjoy sales pitches in your inbox? Just make fuzzy! Sales will follow.

9...Free Services
Chances are that you found this page after you did a search for "Internet marketing for online business" - not because you knew about (or wanted to buy) Magazine. At least now I've told you about. The name will stick in your head forever. Seriously, if your site, like ours, is about a single product, then you should consider offering something for free on the side (like this article). That way you attract people who could use your product but just don't know about it yet. That is crucial in Internet marketing. Your online business has millions of potential customers out there. Free stuff gets them to your site - there you have an opportunity to sell your product - after delivering the free stuff you promised. This is important. If you deceive your visitor she'll hit that dreaded back button before your entire page loads. Your page should deliver on the promises you make in the site description.

10..."Thank you" Notes
Always e-mail your customer within 24 hours after the sale. Thank them for their support. Ensure them that they can count on you for assistance, if needed. It is vital that you make the thank you note as personal as you can. Don't leave a bitter taste in your new customer's mouth.

Google Adsense Tips

Tips of Adsense From Google
Take a good attention on THIS POST if you are really serious into Adsense.

Ads Location:
"the middle, above the fold location perform best." Besides, if you have an article page with a long body of text, the bottom of that article is actually pretty successful.

Ads Formats:
The top three formats are the 336x280 ; the 300x250 medium rectangle; and 160x600 wide skyscraper. Additionally, wider ads formats are doing better than the other ones and the reason is that they actually take up fewer lines. With every additional line, you have a chance of losing that interested user. This means that Ads with fewer lines have higher success.

Ads Colors:
Pick colors that BLEND well with the site. Matches the background color and compliments the site. Make them feel like a part of the site. They give an example where a customer went from blended background to yellow, and clicks dropped 65%. This is what I always stress a lot. PAY MORE ATTENTION!!!

Ads Blindness:
Try not to make the colors stick out too much, readers may immediatly identify them as Ads and NOT even look at them. Also frequent readers may stop reading Ads so you could alternate positioning and colors to get their attention. The more you BLEND Ads in with the site, the less chance that ads blindness will occur.

Experiment:
this was a big theme in the webinar echoed by all experts. Use channels to test different colors, positioning, and formats to find out what works best. They show that you can more than double your revenue just by finding the right color, position, format combo.
Image Ads:If you want to maximize revenue they recommend turning them on. I personally disable them because according to other reports, Text Ads work better than Image Ads. Image Ads seem like you are telling user "I'm an Ads". So, it is NOT GOOD. You may increase your CPC, but you will probably decrease impressions over time.

Link Units:
Don't take up much space, and allows the user to refine what they're interested in. So if they may not be interested in specific ads on your page, they might be interested in a particular topic, and by clicking on a link unit and a link in the link unit, they'll be able to specify that they're interested in that specific topic and get a lot more options and variety on the ads that might appear.

AdSense For Search:

You can use this for your site search, and you get a percentage of ad clicks.

Focus on Content:
Yeap... Another important part is to focus on your contents. Adsense will index your site and find the keywords of your posts. Then, suitable Ads that suit your post will appear.

Don't click on your own ads:
NEVER CLICK on the Ads your own. It is too risky because if Google finds out, your account will be terminated and you will be banned from applying Adsense FOREVER.

Impression Counter:
Google confirmed that Page Impressions are counted when a public service ad (or alternate ad url or color) is displayed.

Your site is unique:
All these things may not matter, the best location, format, and color is different for every site. So again, go experiment.

Try out the different design of Ads for your site and use all the details here properly.

Methods of Earning Money from a Web Site

Methods of Earning Money from a Web Site

1. Pay Per Click Advertising

It's possible to earn a decent income through Google Adsense or other pay-per-click advertisers. While some bloggers report earning a meager income with the pay-per-clicks, it's indeed possible to earn up to six figures. If you have a popular blog, you can do well. Installing Adsense on your blog is simple, it's just a matter of pasting code on your website. Every time a visitor clicks on one of the links in the ad, you'll collect a percentage of the ad revenue. Because you can fine tune the ads to match your blog, they're not as unattractive as other forms of advertising.

2. Blogads

Invitation only sites such as Blogads sell ads for placement on high traffic blogs. The good news is that this isn't affiliate income. Bloggers receive a flat fee for every ad sold. The bad news is that Blogads doesn't accept just anyone. If you don't know anyone who can offer a recommendation on your behalf, try emailing a request to be placed on the waiting list. But don't hold your breath, some bloggers have been waiting years.

3. Affiliate Revenue

Many online retailers will pay a percentage of a sale if it results from an advertisement placed on your site. Amazon.com offers a popular program, or you can visit an affiliate super-site such as Commission Junction to find retailers catering to your particular niche. Bloggers report mixed results. While it is possible to earn a decent commission, it's not as easy to earn with these advertisers as with the pay per click programs. Still, some do well. The flashing, colorful ads are a turn off for many because they're so distracting. Fortunately you can choose codes for the ads that work best for your site.

4. E-Books

If you're an expert in your field you might consider writing e-books and selling them through your blog. This would be a good way of expanding on some of the information blogged about in the past. Check your stats to see which topics garnered the most interest and take it from there. If you have loyal readers and good traffic, you might have a best seller on your hands!

5. Café Press

If you have a recognizable logo, why not Café Press it? Café Press allows you to place your blog's logo or catch phrase on merchandise such as mugs, t-shirts and calendars. Sell them on your blog for a percentage of the earnings.

6. Tip Jar

Some bloggers place "tip jars" on their blog's sidebars. Tip jars are donation buttons leading to the recipient's paypal account. Some bloggers report earning hundreds of dollars through tip jars alone. While this isn't recommended for every blogger, those who put in hours to provide a useful service are certainly justified.
